Two women are facing charges after a police patrol in Port Elgin.
While on patrol, Saugeen Shores Police found a vehicle that was known to be operated by a prohibited driver in a shopping plaza parking lot at around 3 pm on Sunday, March 26th.
They observed the vehicle in a shopping plaza parking lot and saw several people going to the vehicle and then leaving on foot
Officers were able to confirm the woman driving the vehicle had a warrant from Owen Sound Police.
A second woman in the vehicle also had warrants from the Thunder Bay Police Service, as well as the Ontario Provincial Police.
Through their investigation, Saugeen Shores police seized:
– Suspected fentanyl
– Methamphetamine
– Oxycodone
– Various prescription medications not in their names
– Drug trafficking paraphernalia
– Credit cards not in their names
Charges were laid against both the 47-year-old female driver from Owen Sound, and the 25-year-old female passenger from Saugeen Shores.
The pair were both held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Previously, the suspect from Owen Sound was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, as well as assault with a weapon and mischief over $5000 after allegedly driving a vehicle into a Port Elgin motel.
