The Special Investigations Unit has charged an Orillia OPP officer in connection with a shooting last summer that resulted in serious injuries to a civilian who had fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit.
Investigators say an 18-year-old man was hurt in August, after being struck by a bullet from an officer’s firearm.
OPP had pursued a pick up truck that ended up crashing near highway 11 and Sundial Drive.
The constable faces four charges including criminal negligence , as well as careless use of a firearm.
