Owen Sound Police have charged a local man with aggravated assault.
Police say, in late October 2022, they began an assault investigation after receiving a third-party complaint.
Now, Owen Sound police say as a result of their investigation, they determined a 62-year-old Owen Sound resident had pushed a 38-year-old Owen Sound resident down a fire escape.
The accused was arrested without incident in February by the police service’s Community Oriented Response and Enforcement (CORE) unit.
Police say the accused remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
Detective Constable Nick Houston says in a statement, “The victim sustained serious injuries that required hospitalization for over 100 days and she is still recovering from this incident.”
Police add, they would like to thank the community for its assistance throughout the investigation.
