Saugeen Shores police have charged a man they say was driving in Southampton while missing a tire.
Police say at about 1:45 a.m. on February 5th, officers on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling in the area of Albert Street South with no taillights and a loud growling noise coming from the vehicle.
Police say a traffic stop was conducted on North Rankin Street and they saw the right rear wheel was sitting on its rim with no tire attached.
Police say, while speaking with the driver, officers observed everyone in the vehicle was intoxicated.
They add, it was further discovered the driver had a novice drivers licence which had a condition that he must have an ignition interlock device installed in any vehicle he operated. According to police, the vehicle that was being operated did not have such a device.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the station for further testing.
Saugeen Shores police say, a 29-year-old Kincardine man was charged with Operation while impaired, Operation while impaired (80+), Operation while Prohibited (no ignition interlock) and Novice Driver B.A.C. above 0mg.
