The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to assist with the investigation of two separate house fires in Owen Sound.
City firefighters responded to a blaze on 2nd Avenue West around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, and then another fire at a 3rd Avenue East residence about a half an hour later.
No one was hurt.
A statement from the fire department says both units in the multi-family homes were vacant at the time.
“As a result of the initial investigation by Fire Prevention staff and Owen Sound Police Services the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been contacted to assist with the ongoing investigation,” a statement from the Owen Sound Fire Department says.
