Nominations are now open to vote for the 2023 Senior, Volunteer and Youth Volunteer of the Year in Owen Sound.
The city says the nominations will be open until March 1 to recognize volunteers from community groups and organizations who have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in Owen Sound.
The Youth Volunteer of the Year award was introduced in 2018 to recognize those 21-years-old and younger.
Award winners last year included Elizabeth Charlton as Volunteer of the Year and Sharon McKechnie as Senior of the Year.
Owen Sound’s Community Services Committee acts as the selection committee and evaluates applications.
The winners will be given their awards during council meetings in April and June.
“The community in and around Owen Sound is surrounded by generous volunteers who provide their time for the good off the community. I encourage anyone who knows a deserving volunteer to complete a nomination form and work to have their efforts recognized,” says Mayor Ian Boddy.
Nomination forms are available online here along with the guidelines for the awards or at city hall.
