The Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce is partnering up with the Owen Sound Attack for a dedicated charity game to support services at Chapman House in Owen Sound.
The Hockey for Hospice game on Feb. 18 will include various fundraising activities, including the bucket pass, chuck-a-puck, a silent auction, and post-game jersey auction.
Attack Manager of Marketing and Communications Greg Hoddinott says they are very excited to partner with the hospice.
“We have a unique opportunity to use our platform to help our fans learn more about how the hospice not only helps patients with a comfortable place to finish living but supports the family and friends of their patients,” says Hoddinott. “This is something our late Business Manager, Ray McKelvie would be very proud of. He and his late Georgina were supporters of Chapman House since its inception and experienced the amazing services and compassion the hospice can do firsthand.”
Hoddinott adds there will also be a celebrity night at East Side Mario’s in Owen Sound on Jan. 30. Attack players will be serving from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 10 per cent of all food orders during that time period will be going to support fundraising efforts.
All of the proceeds raised during the game will go to the hospice as it relies on fundraising efforts from the community to cover over 50 per cent of their operational expenses each year.
Tickets to the attack game can be found on its website here.
