Meaford’s Committee of the Whole is recommending council sell an unopened portion of Bridge Street to Skydev Inc. for $254,752.
During a meeting on Jan. 16, the committee received a report from CAO Rob Armstrong.
The initial report recommended selling the unopened portion of Bridge Street to Skydev for $120,000, but was passed by the committee to increase that amount based on the assessment of neighbouring lands.
Staff believe selling the portion of Bridge Street to Skydev would be the most appropriate use for the lands as it falls on the site of the future proposed development.
Skydev and Meaford recently reached a settlement for the proposed development of townhouses, apartment, and a hotel, which is to be developed along 226 Boucher Street East and 128 Bridge Street.
Armstrong says following the committee meeting, they informed Skydev of the price the committee is recommending the municipality set for the lands and are waiting to hear back before council meets Jan. 30.
