Collingwood’s Sunset manor has been re-opened to new residents.
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has lifted a ban on new admissions, which had been in place since June of 2021.
The home is operated by the County of Simcoe, and the ban was put in place according to the ministry, because of non-compliance with provincial standards.
The decision was announced in a letter to the agency which oversees placements of residents in long term care homes.
It says admissions can now resume on the basis of recent inspections.
The letter also indicates the long-term care facility has an admissions plan which has been approved by the province.
