Bruce County is planning on holding a housing forum next month to explore possible solutions on affordable housing.
During a Northern Bruce Peninsula special meeting on Jan. 16, council reviewed a letter from Bruce County Clerk Linda White sent Jan. 9.
The email says the county will be holding the forum on Feb. 9 at the Best Western Plus Walkerton Hotel & Conference Centre where they will present the recently completed housing demographic study, as well as talk about the county’s housing and homelessness planning progress report and next steps, a Q&A session on all things housing, and an introduction to the additional residential units toolkit.
“Bruce County is home to rapidly evolving communities where access to housing is a real, urgent challenge,” says the letter. “To achieve more affordable, sustainable and inclusive housing, we must work together.”
The forum will give attendees the opportunity to have an open dialogue and have their questions answered.
The forum will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
