During the weeks of December 8 – 21, 2022 the West Grey Police responded to 168 total calls for service.
Break and Enter – On Saturday December 10, 2022 West Grey Police responded to a Break and Enter to a commercial building in Durham, Ontario. As a result of the investigation a 49-year-old male from Durham was arrested and has been charged with:
-Adult- Break and Enter
-Adult – Mischief Under $5,000
-Adult – Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was processed, released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton at a later date.
Theft of Motor Vehicle Over $ 5000.00 – On Friday December 12, 2022 West Grey Police were contacted regarding a belated theft of a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze. The suspect was known to the victim / complainant of this incident. As a result of the investigation a Warrant has been obtained for the arrest of a 34-yer-old female from West Grey.
Assault – On Friday December 12, 2022 West Grey Police were called to investigate a belated assault allegation. As a result of the investigation a 48-year-old male from West Grey was arrested and has been charged with:
-Adult – Assault
The accused was processed, released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton at a later date.
Bail Violation – In November, 2022 a 23-year-old male of No Fixed Address was arrested for Theft, Fail to Comply, Uttering Threats, and Use of Credit Card. On December 12, 2022 the accused Failed to Appear for fingerprints as required under the Identification of Criminals Act. As a result a Warrant has been obtained for his arrest.
Domestic Dispute / Assault – On Thursday December 15, 2022 police were called to a domestic dispute in the former Township of Bentinck. During the investigation it was learned that an assault had occurred. As a result, a 59-year-old male from West Grey was arrested and has been charged with:
-Adult – Assault – Spousal
The accused was processed, released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton at a later date.
Harassment – On Friday December 16, 2022 members of the West Grey Police Service began a Domestic – Harassment investigation in the former Township of Glenelg. As a result of the investigation a 34-year old male from Port Elgin was arrested and has been charged with:
-Adult – Criminal Harassment
The accused was processed, released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton at a later date.
Threats – On Friday December 16, 2022 West Grey Police were called to a disturbance in progress in the Town of Ayton. As a result of the investigation a 32-year-old male from Ayton was arrested and has been charged with:
-Adult – Utter Threats of Death or Bodily Harm – Spousal
-Adult – Utter Threats of Death or Bodily Harm
