While beach weather may be long gone for this year, the town of Collingwood is gearing up for next summer.
The town has secured a $30,600 provincial grant to install a new accessible mat system at Sunset Point Park Beach.
The mat will enable people in wheelchairs or those who use other mobility devices and strollers to access the water.
The town will also be purchasing a floating wheelchair to make the water more accessible.
It’s expected the accessible pathway and floating wheelchair will be available June of next year.
