Former Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman wants to become the District Chair of Muskoka.
Lehman, who did not stand for re-election as mayor in November, unsuccessfully ran as a Liberal for a seat in the provincial election in June.
Via twitter, Lehman says his family has had a place Muskoka since the 1990’s, and he believes he can make a positive impact on the district.
At least two others will be running, Bracebridge District Councillor Don Smith, and outgoing Gravenhurst District Councillor Terry Pilger.
Nominations close Nov. 15. The chair will be appointed by the incoming council on Dec. 5.
Today, I filed my papers with the Clerk to put my name forward for District Chair in Muskoka!
I'm excited to offer my services to District Council, who will choose the Chair on Dec 5th. I believe I have the experience to make a positive impact and represent the District. 1/
