1) Why are you running?
Whether it be municipal, county, provincial or federal levels of government, they have all gotten top heavy/too big. I want to start with change at the municipal level since it effects our day to day lives.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
Less bloated government/less waste, less taxes and less regulations helps keep more money in peoples hands so it helps with life overall as everything improves when you have more money to do what you want with.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
There is no public sector without the private sector, so again with less taxes and less regulations the private sector will thrive naturally as it returns incentive which is the entrepreneurial spirit.
4) Do you think a municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
When there is a vibrant economy people will naturally go to these areas to live and work. We will not have to force this, with less bloated government this will happen on its own.
5) What is your vision for the future of police services in West Grey?
I believe we need West Grey Police service over OPP since it’s decentralized but like anything there needs to be a budget to stick too. But ideally what I think is even better for our community is smaller than this, it’s small town cop shops. Ayton and Neustadt already have their own fire station and community centre and I think they should have their own police station so they are not being taxed without representation which is theft. I also think the same for retirement living that the homes should be smaller like serenity in Durham which is privately owned and operated. Smaller means more quality and less waste and it produces self sufficient communities which the last 3 years have taught us that we need to be.
6) What issue do you believe is a top priority for West Grey to tackle during the next term?
Fiscal responsibility and I am hoping to see more business’ come back to our community which again will happen naturally with less taxes and less regulations. We don’t need to give handouts or subsidies, we just need less bloated government.
