1) Why are you running?
I am running for Deputy Mayor because I have the experience and knowledge needed to best represent the citizens at both the Local and County Councils.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to ease cost of living concerns? If so, what measures would you support?
I fully support sharing services with neighbouring municipalities. (#5) Council needs to be very conscious of how the tax dollars are spent.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
I would suggest Council reach out to businesses that have an interest in locating in a less expensive area. This could include incentive programs.
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
Yes. For example, Chatsworth Township has made a donation to the new Markdale hospital building fund. Definitely the recruitment and retention of Doctors & Health Care Professionals are important issues at both the local and county levels.
5) Should the township pursue more shared services with neighbouring municipalities?
6) What issue do you believe is a top priority for Chatsworth to tackle during the next term?
As said, council has to be very conscious of the cost of living and keep in mind that there is less Provincial and Federal funds avaliable.
