1) Why are you running?
I was born and raised in Hanover and have lived and worked here my whole life. I am passionate about my community. I have always been a volunteer and council was the obvious next step to giving back. I am completing my first term as councillor and know I have the knowledge and experience to serve another term. I would like to see a number of projects completed in the next term. I have been honoured to represent the residents of Hanover for the past four years and would be honoured to once again bring their voice to the council table.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
As a council, our job is to make Hanover affordable for everyone to be able to live . Affordable housing is a main concern for many residents right now, and we have to make affordable housing options a priority. We also need to show fiscal responsibility in spending taxpayer dollars, keep tax increases to a minimum, and provide services and programs everyone can afford.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
We need to continue to promote our community as being open for business. We need to have land available for companies to come to Hanover. We need to create programs to support both existing and new business. We need to have housing for workers, both attainable and affordable.
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
I feel very strongly our municipality needs to be involved in Doctor, Nurse , and healthcare worker recruitment. Our hospital is a vital part of our community.
5) Do you feel Hanover needs to acquire more land in order to grow?
In order for Hanover to continue to grow, we absolutely need to expand our boundaries. We need to engage our neighbors in discussions that would bring a win-win situation for everyone.
