1) Why are you running?
I am running because there was a call for fresh faces on council and municipal politics has been an interest of mine.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
The only steps I can see is trying to keep your own house in order. As for the municipality, maybe keeping tuition fees for minor sports and similar events, at current rates for a year or two, to give families a break.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
As for economic development I would let township staff do their job. However I would strongly consider any and all requests when it comes to economic development especially if it meant increased jobs for residents.
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
The municipality currently has an excellent recruitment policy in place and I would continue massaging those efforts.
5) What would you like to see in Kincardine for growth-related development?
I would like to see any and all ideas for growth. Small stores, big box outlets and manufacturing would all be welcome. If it is feasible and doable as long as the infrastructure and services allow the enterprise I say bring the business to the municipality.
6) What would you like to see included in the Waterfront Master Plan?
A waterfront survey is currently in progress. If there are suggestions that benefit residents and visitors than I would be in favour. However the survey results have to be discussed before the best suggestions can be taken and acted upon.
