Hanover Police are asking for help identifying a motorcyclist who left the scene of a crash.
Police say on Sept. 28 around 11:20 p.m., police attempted to stop a dark coloured racing style motorcycle on 10th Street in Hanover, after it was spotted by an officer driving aggressively and performing wheelies.
Police say officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver drove away at a high rate of speed on County Road 4 into West Grey. A pursuit was not initiated for safety reasons.
Police add within minutes, they were called to a scene of a failing to remain collision involving the same motorcycle east of Hanover on Grey County Road 4.
Police say they determined the driver lost control as a result of the excessive speed a slid a few hundred metres on the paved portion of the roadway before stopping.
Police say the male driver indicated to a witness they were not injured, and started up the motorcycle again and left the scene at a high rate of speed towards Hanover.
Police add they have seized several parts of the motorcycle from the scene, as well as a single running shoe belonging to the driver.
Police are asking for help identifying the suspect who may have injuries as a result of sliding on the pavement. The motorcycle will also have damage to its right side.
