Cedar Crescent Village Waterfront Development Proposed Design (Photo from Saugeen Shores Council Presentation)
Saugeen Shores council has declared surplus the waterfront the lands that are set to become the Cedar Crescent Village development.
The move, according to a staff report to council Monday, must be made in order for the proposed development to move ahead.
Staff say, as the development of the Cedar Crescent Village project advances, the Town is required to declare the lands surplus in order to confirm the 50-year lease. Staff say declaring the land surplus does not change the status of the lands being publicly owned.
Staff say the site works and servicing agreement was finalized in June and the Amending Land Lease was approved.
With the declaration of surplus lands, the Town must now give public notice of the declaration, which will be on its website and social media.
