The Special Investigations Unit says they have found no reasonable grounds to lay charges against an OPP officer after an incident this past spring in The Archipelago.
Back on May 19th, a 58-year-old man had called OPP to report that he was going to shoot himself, but didn’t give his location. Officers then pinged the man’s cell phone to get his location.
Police responded to the area to check on the man’s well-being, and while making their way to the man’s address, they heard a gunshot.
The SIU says there is no fault for the senior officer involved, and now that their investigation is complete, the case is closed. Three investigators had been assigned to this case.
