South Bruce OPP say a South Bruce Peninsula resident is facing a number of charges following a report of a theft.
Police say on Sept. 12 at 7:58 a.m., the OPP received a report of a theft at an address along Main Street in Tiverton, where officers discovered an assortment of tools had been stolen.
OPP say police, including members from the Saugeen Shores Police, took an individual into custody without incident.
As a result, police say a 26-year-old has been charged with six counts of possessing property obtained by crime, three counts of theft under $5,000, breaking and entering, unauthorized possession of a firearm, failing to comply with a release order, and breach of recognizance.
OPP say the investigation encompassed five reported break-ins, four in Kincardine and one in Saugeen Shores. Investigators were also able to recover a significant amount of stolen property, including tools, firearms, ammunition, jewellery, and alcohol.
Police say the accused remains in custody awaiting a show cause hearing.
