Provincial Police say a 26-year-old man has been arrested after a “serious assault” in Ripley.
South Bruce OPP responded to the incident just prior to midnight on Sunday at a residence on Jessie Street in the southern Bruce County town.
Police say members of the Ripley-Huron Fire Department and Bruce County emergency medical services also attended.
We’ve received only scant details from police about what happened, but they say a 57-year-old Huron-Kinloss resident was transported to a London hospital with injuries describe as life-threatening.
The 26-year-old alleged attacker from Huron-Kinloss was charged with aggravated assault and remains in custody.
South Bruce OPP say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
