The County of Huron has scheduled a week of events to welcome international newcomers to Ontario’s West Coast.
In Huron County, the following events are being organized this September:
- Movie night at the Huron County Museum, September 8
- Welcome hike at Maitland Woods, September 10
- Huron Multicultural Festival, September 11
- Wingham Volunteer Fair, September 11
- Welcome hike at Sifto Loop, September 14
- Webinar – Welcoming and Inclusive Workplaces: How to Recruit and Retain Talent, September 15
- Welcome to Wingham meet-up, Wingham Library, September 15
- Exeter Volunteer Fair, September 16
- Get to know your neighbour barbecue at Clinton’s Harvest Festival, September 17
- Welcoming Week Window Display Contest, September 9 – 18
Welcoming Week is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants.
This year’s Welcoming Week marks the tenth anniversary of what is now a global event.
This is Huron County’s second year participating.
