The Chesley hospital’s emergency department will be closed overnight from September 2nd to the 6th.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says in a release today, due to a large number of short notice sick leaves, resulting in a significant shortage of both RNs and RPNs, it will be closing the Chesley emergency department (ED) overnight for five consecutive nights as follows starting tomorrow night, and continuing through next Tuesday night:
A release says all efforts to find staffing for the Emergency Department have been undertaken without success.
The Chesley ED will be closed:

5 p.m. on Saturday, September 3rd to 7 a.m. on Sunday, September 4th

5 p.m. on Monday, September 5th to 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th
5 p.m on Tuesday, September 6th to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7th
Ambulance by-pass will undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
