The Town of Goderich has approved Huron County’s first Pride Festival.
A formal motion was put forward by councillor Matt Hoy at Monday’s council meeting, recommending a pride sidewalk be established on The Square at the entrance to West Street.
Council approved the motion, as well as the region’s first Pride festival, tentatively scheduled for June 10th, 2023.
A fundraising event has been scheduled for this October, to raise money for next year’s inaugural Pride festival.
In 2022, Huron was the only county in Southwestern Ontario without a Pride Festival.
