The Grey Sauble Conservation Foundation is unveiling the recipient of its annual $2,000 scholarship.
The foundation says this scholarship is available to a graduating secondary student who is entering a post-secondary program geared towards environmental or resource management.
This year’s Malcolm Kirk Environment Scholarship recipient is Darryl Blair, a student from St. Mary’s High School. Blair is pursuing post-secondary education in environmental engineering at the University of Guelph.
The foundation says a recommendation letter for the scholarship describes Blair as a diligent student and a very creative, conscientious, and resourceful person.
“Darryl’s goals for the future include a career in the environmental field and increasing green spaces in urban areas. He currently has a specific interest in working with municipalities to implement cost-effective strategies that reduce the environmental impact of urbanization,” says the foundation.
The next deadline to apply for this annual scholarship is May 31, 2023.
