The number of stolen vehicles in Huron County is up year over year.
OPP say 66 vehicles have been stolen, to date, in Huron County.
That is up from 56 at the same time last year, an eighteen per cent increase.
A news release from Huron OPP says over half of the incidents involved unlocked vehicles and situations where the ignition key was left in the vehicle or readily accessible nearby.
The most common vehicle stolen was pickup trucks, while over 60 per cent of vehicles were stolen during night time hours.
Police recommend always locking your vehicle, and pocketing your keys.
