The province’s police oversight agency continues to investigate an incident in Orillia Saturday, in which an 18 year old was wounded by an OPP officer. The Special Investigations Unit says police attempted to stop a suspected impaired driver on West Street.
The driver took off, and police followed to a parking lot on Sundial Drive, where the car hit two vehicles and a light standard.
According to the S-I-U, there was a struggle between police and two male occupants of the vehicle.
One officer discharged his firearm, and a person was struck.
The S-I-U has assigned three investigators and two forensic investigators to the case.
