The development process is underway for a new commercial plaza in Port Elgin.
Those traveling along Goderich Street (Highway 21) in the north end of Port Elgin may have noticed a sign advertising the planned development which is expected to include a Food Basics grocery store, Osmow’s Mediterranean & Shawarma restaurant, Starbucks and Dollarama.
Supervisor of Development Services Jay Pausner says one of the services has a drive-thru in its plans.
The plaza is to be located north of Peninsula Ford and South of the Holiday Inn.
The broad timeline to open is reported to be early 2023.
