The Stanley Cup will be coming to South Bruce Peninsula, specifically to Sauble Beach, on Monday August 29th.
Sauble Beach is the hometown of Kurtis MacDermid a member of the 2022 Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche.
South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson spoke to Fred Wallace & confirmed the date and parade route.
Jackson admitted these are busy days since she was contacted about the parade while attending the A.M.O. Conference in Ottawa.
The Stanley Cup Parade route on August 29th will start at the north end of Sauble Beach at the boat ramp and proceed along Lakeshore Boulevard to the iconic Sauble Beach sign at the corner of Lakeshore and Main.
Kurtis MacDermid, a defenceman who graduated from Shallow Lake Minor Hockey and played Junior Hockey for both the Owen Sound Greys & the Attack, played 58 games for the Avalanche this year scoring twice and picking up 5 points on the season.
