Kincardine council has approved a zoning by-law amendment for a new 130-unit subdivision in Tiverton.
The proposed development would include 23 single homes, 22 semi-detached dwellings and 85 townhouse units.
According to a release from the municipality, the 10.77-hectare property is on the northwest side of Tiverton.
A public meeting for the new subdivision was held in June, when some residents raised concerns about the proposal.
“Neighbours expressed concerns about increased traffic, safety, water capacity in the area, property values and preserving agricultural lands,” a statement from the municipality of Kincardine says.
The plan of subdivision will now move to Bruce county council for consideration.
