Waterways could be higher than expected across Huron County this weekend.
The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority issued a water safety advisory, following heavy rainfalls across the country, mainly between Goderich and Howick Township.
According to the MVCA, the greatest intensity of rainfall was recorded in the Wingham area.
“Significant flooding is not expected but river levels will rise throughout the day, especially along the Lower Maitland downstream of Wingham,” the MVCA says.
The water safety advisory will remain in effect until Monday at 4:00 p.m..
