Provincial Police say one person is dead as a result of a two-vehicle collision along Highway 26 in Meaford.
Grey Bruce OPP, Grey County paramedics, Inter-Township firefighters and Meaford firefighters responded to the incident just east of Woodford around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Police say an occupant in one of the involved vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people in the car were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The occupant of the second vehicle was transported by Ornge air ambulance to a trauma centre with injuries police describe as serious.
The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time pending next of kin notifications.
Highway 26 was closed in both directions between Grey Road 18 and Eleventh Line for several hours Tuesday night as a result of the incident.
Police have not shared any information about what may have caused the crash.
Grey Bruce OPP say they’re continuing the investigation with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).
