The Barrie Police Traffic Unit is going after noisy cars.
Police have been getting complaints abut vehicles with modified exhaust systems to intentionally make them loud.
City police say they will collaborate with officers from neighbouring police services to crack down on noisy vehicles.
A news release says noisy cars are one of the most frequent concerns received by the Barrie Police Service.
Traffic Unit officers have provided additional training and resources to front-line officers to ensure they are familiar with what to look for when stopping a vehicle, and how to enforce the noisy vehicle sections of the Highway Traffic Act.
