The town of Collingwood is reporting a problem with a sanitary sewer forcemain at Huron Street and Heritage Drive.
The town says the Spills Action Centre and the Medical Officer of Health have been notified.
The town issued a notice Sunday afternoon of the suspected forcemain failure.
Harbour area user groups are being notified and signs will be posted to warn swimmers of the potential risk.
