A 48-year-old swimmer is dead after being hit by a vessel in Lake Rosseau.
This morning at 6:45 am OPP responded to a 911 call near Shamrock Lodge Road in Port Carling after getting reports of a swimmer unresponsive in the water 70′ from a dock.
Police say the man had been swimming and equipped with a visibility marker, and was struck by a vessel.
Life saving efforts were made, however, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Police are conducting an investigation into what they are terming a boating collision and are asking people to stay clear of the area in order that they may do so, more information will be released as it becomes available.
