A pair of students at Brookside Public School have been recognized with the Avon Maitland District School Board’s “Best Buddies Award.”
The Linda Clements “Best Buddy” Award was named after late Education Assistant Linda Clements, who made provisions to present an award to a pair of students who embody what it means to be a best buddy.
This year’s award was given to Jase Caesar and Kenneth Mercer.
A presentation by the AMDSB says, “Kenneth is a Grade 1 student who thrives on the attention of his peers and looks to always be included.”
“Jase has been a welcoming face for Kenneth, and goes out of his way to say hello, fist bump, help with snow pants and shoes, and play with him.”
