Houle won the 178 kilometre stage through the Pyrenees in 4 hours 23 minutes & 47 seconds
He becomes the first Canadian to win a stage at the Tour de France since Steve Bauer in 1988
Houle from Sainte-Perpetue, Quebec, crossed the line 70 seconds ahead of the runners up which included Israel-Premier Tech teammate Michael Woods of Ottawa

Stanton was chosen as the game MVP
The American League has won the All Star game the last 9 times it’s been played.
Regular season play resumes tomorrow.
The Blue Jays will start their post All Star Game schedule on Friday when they visit Boston.

Hockey Canada Update
Three former Ontario Hockey League players, Jordan Kyrou, Taylor Raddysh & Robert Thomas all released statements via Twitter yesterday, stating they were not involved in an alleged sexual assault involving members of Canada’s 2018 World Junior hockey team.
Hockey Canada settled a lawsuit in May after a woman claimed she was assaulted by 8 hockey players, including members of the World Junior team, at a function in London in June of 2018.
Last week Hockey Canada announced that it was reopening its investigation into the alleged assault.
Sekera Retires
Former Owen Sound Attack defender Andrej Sekera is retiring after 16 seasons and more than 800 games played in the National Hockey League.
Sekera announced his retirement in an interview with a Slovakian newspaper on Monday.
Before playing in the NHL, Sekera played 2 seasons for the Owen Sound Attack and won the Max Kaminsky Trophy in 2006 as the Ontario Hockey League’s Outstanding Defenceman
Events
Owen Sound North Stars girls’ field lacrosse will be well represented at the upcoming Ontario Summer Games in Mississauga with eleven players taking part in the four-day event.
Participating is Madison Playter (Team Orange), Laine Nissen and Courtney Scott (Team Grey), Gillian Warren and Bree Wilkins (Team Red), Edyn Beyer, Aliyah Bonterre, Brooklyn Doyle, and Cassidy Low (Team Pink), and Dani Strong and Kaitlyn Strong (Team Green).
The Ontario Summer Games run from July 21-24 in Mississauga.
The Owen Sound players attended an open tryout for all U15 and U17 players in Guelph on May 14th and 15th after which the top 96 players were chosen and assigned to teams during a coach’s draft.
A twelfth Owen Sound player, Willow Smith-Spinney, is competing in the basketball tournament at the Summer Games.
