
The Municipality of Kincardine is going to be closing several local roads for the Canada Day weekend.
The municipality says on July 1 as of 11 a.m., streets will be closed for the Canada Day Parade. The parade will gather at Quinn Plaza at the north end of Queen Street and will head south on Queen Street and west down Harbour Street to the lakeside flagpole for the ceremony and flag raising.
For the 2022 Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games, from July 1 to the 3 temporary road closures will be in place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Queen Street and Lambton to Durham Market Square for the parade. Durham Market Square will also be closed on Queen Street at Durham Market North, to Durham Market South, to Princes Street, to Durham Market North, to Queen Street for the festival.
Temporary road closures will be in place for the Scottish Pipe Band Parade on July 2, as well as every Saturday until Aug. 27 from 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. The impacted streets include Queen Street from Durham Market South to Quinn’s Plaza, Durham Market North from Queen Street to Princes Street.
During the Promenade on Queen event on July 3, there will vehicle traffic restrictions in place in the downtown area from Durham Market North to Lambton Street. The municipality says it will be a pedestrian friendly area for at least one-hour before and after the event.
