Saugeen Track & Field Club Athletes Win 4 Medals at Nationals
4 STFC athletes returned home this week with medals from the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Langley, B.C.
Ben Brewer, Kincardine, had a personal best put of 15.10 to earn a silver in the U20 Men’s 6k Shot Put.
Avery Hastings, Tiverton, launched a 40.99m effort on her 6th and final throw to grab the bronze medal in U20 Women’s Discus.
Two gold medals were won by athletes training out of the area but also affiliated with the Saugeen Track and Field Club.
Heather Abadie, Louisiana, won the U20 Women’s Pole Vault.
Andy Shaw, Wingham, won the Para Ambulatory Men’s Javelin gold.
Harley Martin, Formosa, was 6th in both the U20 Women’s Shot Put and Hammer events.
Avery Hastings was 8th in U20 Hammer.
Billie Martin, Formosa, was 9th in the Open Women’s Hammer.
It was the first National Championships meet in 3 years for Saugeen Track & Field athletes.
