Two Saugeen Shores police officers were injured while executing a search warrant at a house in Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores police say on Tuesday morning (June 28th), officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Bricker Street address.
They say, during the execution of the warrant, seven people were arrested at the residence.
Two officers suffered minor injuries when they were bitten by dogs within the residence. One officer was transported to the Hospital by EMS but has since been released.
Police say $11,600 worth of fentanyl and $2,400 worth of cocaine was seized along with $2,100 in Canadian currency.
They say a quantity of stolen property was also recovered and is being processed in order to identity its lawful owners.
Police did not name the man, but say, as a result of the investigation, a 53 year old Saugeen Shores man is facing the following charges.
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Fentanyl 5(2) CDSA
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine 5(2) CDSA
Possession of the Proceeds of Crime 354(1)(a) CC
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 88 CC
The accused was remanded into custody.
