If you plan to hit the waters of Lake Huron for the Canada Day weekend, OPP are cautioning you to be careful.
OPP say only 35 of the 238 people who died in boating and paddling incidents between 2012 and 2021 were wearing a lifejacket.
That is 14 per cent.
Police say a majority of those lives could have been saved, if the victims were wearing lifejackets.
For anyone planning to go off-roading for the long weekend, OPP urge you to wear a helmet.
186 people were killed in off-road vehicle incidents between 2012 and 2021, with nearly half not wearing a helmet.
