The Bruce County Public Library is looking to highlight local authors and illustrators in their collection.
Library Director Brooke McLean says they’re excited to shine a light on local authors and illustrators who have contributed to the collection.
“We’re really looking for people of all ages throughout Bruce County who are creating, whether it’s poetry, or illustrations, or writing a memoir, we’d love to add it to the collection.”
Right now they’re focused on a print collection and have parameters in place for what they’re currently accepting.
“So although we do have some titles that are in the collection that do meet these criteria, and we’ll be going back to label them, this [designation] is new in a sense that it provides another avenue just by making sure that people know who the authors are.”
Local authors and illustrators can submit a copy of their book at any of the library’s 17 branches with a completed submission form from the library’s website, or they can mail a copy of their work to library headquarters.
Authors will be notified by email within 30 days of submission as to whether the title will be added to Bruce County Public Library’s Local Author Collection.
