Several charges have been laid following an incident at a business in downtown Orillia.
The OPP says an individual entered the business yesterday and tried to leave the store with some things they had hidden, but when confronted by staff, the man smashed two items on the ground and left.
Then police say while outside the business, the individual allegedly threw an object at the window, before officers arrived and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged David MALOTT (36), of Kitchener, ON, with the following:
· Mischief- Under $5000, (2 Counts)
· Theft Under $5000
· Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking- opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was held for a bail hearing on June 22, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
