There has been a sad end to the search for a missing canoeist in Tiny Township.
The OPP says at approximately 8 o’clock last night, divers from the OPP Underwater Search and Rescue Unit (USRU) located and removed from Georgian Bay the body of the missing male canoeist.
The deceased has been identified as 29 year old Mateusz Janus of Toronto.
He was one of two men who were on a canoe that capsized north of Mark’s Point yesterday morning.
Police say the other man was rescued by a nearby kayaker and taken to hospital with hypothermia.
They say an autopsy will be conducted to assist in determining Janus’ cause of death.
The OPP says the waters of Georgian Bay are currently a chilly 6 degrees.
