Northern Bruce Peninsula Council is approving a nearly $600,000 tender for the third phase of the Isthmus Bay Road reconstruction project.
During a meeting on June 13, a report was brought forward by Public Works Manager Troy Cameron.
The report recommended awarding the $591,855 tender to Ontario Limited o/a Rydall Contracting.
The report says this phase of the project includes the area of Isthmus Bay Road from north of Hawthorne Drive to south of the intersection of Isthmus Bay Road/Forty Hills Road and Whippoorwill Road.
The project includes road realignment and where possible, lay down asphalt, restore lawns and driveways, and some restoration of the Swan Lake Bridge.
The tender falls within the 2022 capital budget for the third phase of the project, which was set at $850,000.
Cameron says they will be looking to start the work late summer or early September.
“It would probably be best for the municipality to kind of get past the tourist season a bit so that is what we will be pushing for,” says Cameron.
