A couple of E-bike riders goofing off in Orillia has led to several charges.
The OPP says an officer noticed two e-bikes being driven in an unsafe manner, with their operators failing to properly wear their safety equipment on the evening on Saturday, May 28th.
Police say upon stopping the individuals, both were determined to be suspended drivers, and one had an outstanding warrant, while a black pellet gun, taser, cocaine, as well as suspected fentanyl were seized.
As a result, police have charged the following individuals:
Adam Norwood (35), of Orillia ON, with the following:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous, CC 88
- Unauthorized possession of weapon, CC 91(2)
- Possession break in instruments, CC 351(1)
- Possession of a schedule I substance- Opioid (other than heroin), CDSA 4(1)
- Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
- Operate motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
- Power-assisted bicycle not in good working order, HTA 369/09 7
The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear on July 19, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, Ontario.
Christopher Draper (38), of Orillia ON, with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance- Cocaine, CDSA 4(1)
- Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
- Operate motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
- Power-assisted bicycle not in good working order, HTA 369/09 7
The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear on July 19, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, Ontario.
