A 38 year old man is facing a list of charges, after a home invasion in Orillia.
The OPP says a home on Barrie Road was robbed and one person was held against their will by a man with an edged weapon on Sunday afternoon.
Police say some personal property was taken by the individual, who then fled from the scene on foot and was located in another residence a short distance away.
After refusing to exit the residence, the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Crisis Negotiators, and OPP Canine attended to assist. Police closed a section of Dunedin St for a short time in relation to the incident. The individual was arrested at the scene without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, Stano ZIBRITOVSKY, 38 years of age, of Orillia, has been charged with the following:
· Robbery with Violence, CC 344(1)(b)
· Forcible Confinement, CC 279(2)
· Assault with A Weapon, CC 267(a)
· Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, CC 88
· Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, CC 91(2)
· Utter Threats, CC 264.1(1)(a)
· Fail to Comply with Release Order, CC 145(1)(a)
The accused was held pending a bail hearing on June 6, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
