Georgian Bluffs council is awarding a $118,000 contract as part of the Kemble Community Centre revamp.
Township council approved a staff recommendation June 1 to award the tender to Masri O Architects for the design upgrades to the arena, community consultation and engagement and to serve as contract administrator for the completion of the upgrades.
In April 2021, the federal government announced joint funding of over $11.3 million to 30 community, cultural and recreation projects across central Ontario, in which the township received over $1.2 million.
Additional funding will be contributed from the township for the upgrades to the Kemble Community Centre (Arena).
Mayor Dwight Burley says they are expecting the project to be finished by the end of 2023, with community consultation sessions to be held before the end of the summer.
“We are excited to see it done, but we want community input,” says Burley.
