The classic car tours are making their return this summer in support of Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce.
Crime Stoppers says this year’s event follows the success seen over the past two years. Four events are being planned for this summer for classic car owners.
People are being invited to attend these events as there is no admission fee, but there will be a chance to make a donation to Crime Stoppers.
The first event will be held on June 25 at the Sauble Speedway’s Classic Car Corral at the start of the race season. The event will be hosted by Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce, the Sunset Cruisers of Sauble Beach and Saugeen Shores. Over 150 classic and specialty cars will be on display starting at 5 p.m. before the evening’s races.
The South Bruce County Classic Car Tour will then be held on June 26, as drivers are invited to take the back roads, farms, rolling hills and villages as Crime Stoppers will be hosting a stationary car show in Paisley at Palace Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event will feature a 1 p.m. shotgun start from Sauble Beach, Port Elgin, Kincardine, Paisley, and Port Clark, and Crime Stoppers volunteers will hand out route maps to participants.
July 31 will feature the Bruce Peninsula Run and Classic Car Show. Classic and hobby cars will be gathering in Port Elgin, Sauble Beach, Owen Sound, Wiarton, and Lion’s Head and take a shotgun start at 1 p.m. on various routes around Northern Bruce Peninsula. Route maps will be provided by Crime Stoppers volunteers, with all routes ending at the Wiarton Keppel International Airport for an afternoon stationary show until 6 p.m.
The series of events will end on Sept. 25, with the third annual Keppel Classic Colour Tour hosted by Crime Stoppers. The event will be starting with a 1 p.m. shotgun start from Sauble Beach, Wiarton, Owen Sound, and Port Elgin, as participants will be touring the Keppel Township. Maps will be supplied by Crime Stoppers volunteers at locations which will show a number of scenic routes. All of the routes will end at the Grey Roots Museum for a stationary car show until 6 p.m.
